花與情人的羈絆是基於美好的聚攏嗎？初愛的迷離讓情愛變得朦朧昏眩，要論愛的面目，不如提莎士比亞的十四行詩。「My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun／ Coral is far more red than her lips' red（我愛人的雙眸不如太陽溫煦；珊瑚的紅潤甚至遠勝她的雙唇）」開篇兩句令人驚異，這首「出格」的情詩引人目不轉睛。「I haveseen roses damask'd, red and white,／But no suchroses see I in her cheeks（我曾瞻望紅白相間的玫瑰，但卻不曾於她的雙頰親見）」比起一般情詩的敘事，莎翁以一連串美好事物去「凸顯」愛人面貌之凡俗，直至最後轉折才道出，在筆者心底，愛人往往是他人無可比擬、珍稀的存在。

社會塑造的愛情形象難免太過虛幻，《Shakespeare’s Sonnet 130》近似魯莽的真誠，不如說是對愛的明心見性，更能為塵世的平凡人們所套入。褪去冠冕堂皇的包裝，愛的質樸讓凡俗肌理亦能生長出花朵般傾慕的感受，故現實情愛裡的感受不能全然歸咎於愛的本質，儀式感的必要，便是在自然的狀態中，讓相愛更加豐饒。
